01 Jul 2009 : Memories of Ship Inn Start to Come Back
Memories of Ship Inn Start to Come BackThanks to Richard Philip (quack quack), owner of the fantastic Ship Inn for a tremendous celebratory day out for the club as we marked our Centenary in style.

A bus full of members, family and friends were joined by many other Carnegie friends in Elie and formed a large crowd to ensure a bumper day at the Inn.

Drinks, courtesy of Belhaven and Wolfblass were the order of the day, complimented by a fantastic outdoor barbecue. This put the crowd in the mood for some world class cricket, that came courtesy of two teams who put on an entertaining show.

Needless to say, with so much Belhaven consumed by Carnegie, Elie edged it.

Match report and scorecard in the usual place. Photos will follow once Bob gets his finger out!!

A day long to remember for all at Carnegie

15 Jun 2009 : Thank you from Carnegie CC
Thank you from Carnegie CCA big THANK YOU from the committee, players and members to all who made our game against a Scotland XI on Sunday 14 June a great success

We had an awesome day in terms of the match, weather and crowd - and it all made for a memorable event for all 150 who came along.

Thanks to Cricket Scotland - especially Gordon Drummond and all the players who took a day out to represent the SCU and play the game in a fantastic way.

We do appreciate Gordon taking himself off after only one over( a double wicket maiden). Our lowest total in 100 years was 14 (set in 1930 @ Townhill) , and we didn't want to break that record!

Special thanks to SCU President Jim Young who took a full day to attend the match, and present us with an engraved quaich at the end of the game

To friends and family who attended the match - thanks. I think you can see how important the cricket club is to all of us, and we really appreciate your turn out to support our Centenary

To the old boys - thank you for turning out to watch (or umpire!). I hope you can be proud that the cricket club you played for is still happy and healthy at the grand old age of 100

To the ESCA clubs who turned out - thanks for coming! We do enjoy a competitive but friendly relationship with you and I hope you enjoyed the show the Scotland XI put on and the beer!

To the non-playing members who helped out on the day - sober up! We have given you each a bottle to say thanks, and we do appreciate all the help you gave.

We were fortunate to be supported by 2 match sponsors - Cow Corner gave us a match ball and man of the match prize. Dunfermline Athletic FC supplied a raffle prize of a days Corporate Hospitality. Thanks to both Stevie Colvin and Karen Masterton.

For note, Gav Ross ate some food on Sunday morning, and took 4 for 28 to secure his man of the match helmet.

And finally, to the guy who asked me for my autograph - thank you! Top man
