Dunfermline Carnegie Cricket Club First Team v Dunfermline 2 on Sat 04 Jun 2011 at 1pm
Dunfermline Carnegie Cricket Club Won by 12 runs
Match report
Dont remember too much due to the Corona and Crabbies after match party / Dopey Miller signing festival
Highlights package below
McKane win toss and choose to bowl
Snuggles bowls fast and doesnt go for many runs, but he doesnt aim at the stumps so only takes one wicket. From where I was Gordy, it was plumb.
Service bowls a fine spell for McKane, with 3 for 22 off 10 including Butch who isn't thinking about the fact thats 2 in 2.
Martin gets a little excited when McKane leave the field at drinks
Hen bats for the first 20 overs with the shakes. Only appearing to be playing cricket to be sobering up / calming down, after a night on the (rather young) tiles at Jiggies. Hen continues to live the dream and bats through to close for an unbeaten 50.
Muzz batters the ball about for 5 minutes, racing up the sixes league, then forgot to hit it and was out.
A fine 63 partnership in the last ten overs with "Boom Boom" Lafferty enjoying facing the pace and getting 26 not out - Carnegie 176.
Tea - we noticed it was half 5! 4 hours to bowl 50 overs. Yawn
Baltic now in the field
Young Wilkinson appears a confident batsmen, coming down the wicket to Butch in his first over.
Wauchop bends a banana to bowl batsmen 2
JordAN came and went for 0 after a sprightly caught and bowled from Carnegie best Kiwi
Carnegie legend Shaun Davidson is run out after a dart from skipper Gav Ross. Well done skip, think less, act more
Snuggles is out from the best catch I have ever seen in cricket from Lafferty.
Memory is a little hazy from here on in...
I think, Wauchop got one more
Wilkinson continues to bat smoothly and is assisted to 80ish with Inzy
Nelly bowls an over to take the game forward.
"Plumb" Gordy takes a wicket, with a fast catch from Gav at cover.
McKane then have two 14 year olds for a 7th wicket partnership. Both players play straight, and very well, taking McKane close to victory. They are undone by Gav.
With 20 needed from 11 overs, Carnegie are quiet, as the McKane captain marches to the crease.
All he needs to do is stay with Wilkinson and its game over, 20 pts to Dunfermline
Bang - caught and bowled Gav. None of us can believe he did that
Number 11 is out 1st ball as Nelly takes an incredible diving catch in the deep.
Wilkinson is left high and dry on 70 not out to an ovation from both teams.
McKane 160 (or so) all out. Carnegie 20 points.
Up the toon!
Highlights
New member Dopey Miller's sister was oot. Lets say, I have new found respect for James Spreng. Thats all that needs to be said on the matter.
A touring party of McKenna's from West Lothian showed up, had one shandy each and went home with their dignity in tact.
Those two from the scheme came out and were happy as larry.
Lance Contador let his training down by getting buckled
Gav tried his best to award himself man of the match
Nelly accepted TFC in a mature way.
The Jam were playing in PJs.
Gruff.
