Dunfermline Carnegie Cricket Club Lost by 33 runs
Carnegie Comets produced a brilliant display with the bat, ball and in the field as they narrowly lost to Townhill Thunder. After being asked to bowl Carnegie fielded with great discipline. Bob Hunter bowled 4 overs straight up for only 15 runs wile Wauchop, on debut, was economical. The introduction of Stringer brought about two quick wickets including one to an Owen Goody catch. The dangerous Murray was brilliantly run out by Frank Simpson while Graham took a good catch to dispose of Hynd off Goody. Owen bowled a wide followed by 2 wickets to put himslef on hatrick but it was not to be. In reply Carnegie lost early wickets before Lafferty and Lee steadied the ship. They laid the foundations for Owen to batter 13, an innings which included 2 cracking fours one of whcih was only a few feet short of the maximum. Highest score for Owen, best bowling figures for Owen and possibly first catch for Owen. Man of the Match for Owen was a formality although he was pushed all the way by Bob Hunter. TFC is not awarded in the FPL. Mitch and Nelly both umpired the whole game with little drama and they have both been awarded 1 point.
