Match report Carnegie opened up their Centenary 2009 East League Division 4 Season with a sensational tie against Watsonians 3rd XI.

Batting first, Carnegie slumped to 22 for 5 but a brave fightback from the Chairman Honeyford aided by a determined and wagging tail, saw Carnegie climb to 87 and achieve one batting point.

Carnegie tore after their ten wicket target in the second innings and picked up regular wickets through the likely lads of Wauchop and Mitchell. Particular highlights were "catch of the Century" for M Hunter, and two wickets for spinner Monty. Nevertheless, Watsonians reached 87 with 9 down, only for Carnegie to take the final wicket and claim a tie and 12 points.

A good night was had by all the team in celebration, and Carnegie march on to Clackmannan next week
